Who are we?
We are a group of Jollibee workers and community members who simply want to improve our working conditions and earn a living wage so we can feed our families.
What’s happening?
What happened at the Jollibee Journal Square location in New Jersey?
Nine Jollibee workers at Journal Square were illegally terminated because they were organizing for higher wages and better working conditions. Now former and current Jollibee workers and community members are fighting to defend the rights of all Jollibee workers.
This isn’t an isolated incident. These labor issues are happening in Jollibee locations across the globe:
Wage theft
Workers not getting overtime pay; not getting correct hourly wage when working at different stores; not getting their breaks
Casualization
Intentionally keeping most of the workforce part-time, depriving workers of substantive wage raises, benefits, vacation time, and paid sick leave that is usually allotted to workers categorized as full-time
Chronic understaffing and scheduling issues
Workers getting schedules late; being scheduled on days or shifts they are unavailable; having very little hours; and stations being understaffed, which increases the work on individual workers
Worker mistreatment
Workers facing bullying, yelling, guilt tripping, and surveillance from management
Misclassification of workers
Workers working full-time hours but being incorrectly classified as part-time or as contracted workers
Our Demands
Uphold workers' rights to organize at all Jollibee stores!
Reinstate all fired workers and give them back pay and compensation for lost wages!
Apologize publicly for retaliating against workers who exercised their right to organize!
